I am excited to present the first set of a new series entitled Freestyle Assault: The New School Chronicles, which will highlight the best of the freestyle scene after 1992.

New School, aptly named for following the Old School years from 84' - 92', had a few record labels releasing the music, mainly Tazmania Records. Unfortunate for them and the artists, mainstream radio decided freestyle wasn't made for the airwaves anymore.

I must admit during this period, the freestyle market became over-saturated with artists, that the quality of production and voices declined fairly rapidly. That is not to say, however, that great tracks were not being recorded and produced, with some talented artists emerging, such as Willie Valentin, Denine, Pain, N.V., and Sammy C among others.

Some artists from the glory years also continued recording songs during this time. George Lamond, Giggles, and Nyasia are on this set.

Enjoy... Taz :)
